Node

To use this device on its own instead, reset it to factory settings (hold the reset button for 10 seconds) and set it up as a single device.

Can't reach the device

Check that it is powered on and you are on the same WiFi.

Welcome

Let's set up your device. It takes about a minute, and everything can be changed later.

What is this device?

Home code

It is shown on the master (Settings → Nodes). It keeps every message between your devices private.

Connect to WiFi

Pick your home network. The device uses 2.4 GHz WiFi. You can add more networks later.

Create your account

This admin account manages the device and other users.

Hotspot password

If the device can't reach any saved WiFi, it opens its own hotspot so you can still get in. Choose a password for it.

Leave it empty to keep the hotspot open (anyone nearby could join it and see the sign-in page). You can change it later in Settings.

Relays

How many relays did you wire? Pins are picked for you from the ones that are safe on this board; you can change any of them.

Number of relays

Sensors

Optional. Add the sensors you wired, or skip this and add them any time later.

Ready

Check the summary, then finish. The device restarts and joins your WiFi.

All set

The device is restarting and joining your WiFi.

1. Reconnect your phone to your home network.
2. Open (or find the device's IP address in your router).

Name, address and clock

.local
Changing the hostname restarts the device.
Daylight saving is not automatic: change the zone when the clocks change.
Device clock
Normally the clock comes from the internet. Use this if the device has no internet; it has to be set again after a restart.

Relays

Pins, names, icons and relay board

Add a relay for every output you wired. Each one uses a different pin of this board.

Adding, removing or moving a relay to another pin restarts the device. Schedules and rules stay with their relays.
Relay board type
Most 5 V relay modules switch ON when the input pin goes LOW. If yours is ON when it should be OFF, flip this.

Sensors

Temperature, light, vibration, motion…

Each sensor uses its own pin. Rules in Automation can switch relays when a sensor reads a value or is triggered.

Adding, removing or moving a sensor to another pin restarts the device.

Sensor

Vibration and motion sensors pulse on and off. This keeps the sensor "triggered" for a while after the last pulse.

WiFi networks

The device joins the strongest saved network that is in range, and switches to another one if it drops. Up to 5 networks.

Add network

Pick an address outside your router's DHCP range so it never changes. It only applies to this network.

Hotspot

When no saved WiFi network can be reached, the device opens its own hotspot so you can still connect to it and fix the settings.

Leave it empty for an open hotspot (anyone nearby could join it and see the sign-in page).

Factory reset

This erases everything: WiFi networks, hotspot password, users, schedules, rules and settings. The device restarts with an open hotspot and shows the setup wizard again. This cannot be undone.
